Is it time for an assistant?

Life is busy!

The pandemic has ensured that for many people and businesses, home life and work life has become blurred.  The day can be full of virtual meetings, the to do list never seems to get smaller and, at some point, stepping back and evaluating the situation will be necessary.  Maybe it’s time to work with an assistant?  Personal Assistants, Executive Assistants, Admin Assistants - we come in all shapes and sizes, and we all have different skillsets.  Those skills may include diary management, social media, new business pipeline or research and, whatever they are, we are specialists in what we do.

As I’ve alluded to before, promoting myself is not a skillset of mine but I’m ok with that.  My strengths lie within my personable nature, my ability to adapt to constantly changing parameters and to work with accuracy and at pace. Learning about strengths and weaknesses is important, as is recognising when it’s time to call in the specialists.

For my clients, I not only represent their company and their brand, but I also represent them as an individual.  If you’re considering working with an assistant, speak to your network to learn from their experiences and also think about the following:

  • where do you need the additional support?

  • how integrated into your business would you like them to be?

  • ensure their personality will work well with yours and your stakeholders

Is it time for an assistant? If you’re still asking the question then it probably is!
